What a tune-up covers
- Inspect and clean your equipment
- Check controls and electrical connections
- Make adjustments and replace certain small parts at no extra charge
- Test for carbon monoxide leaks
- Check for gas leaks in gas furnaces
- Check for refrigerant leaks in air conditioners
- Review the findings with you and answer your questions
Your autumn checklist
- Get your furnace or boiler tuned up. Call early, because the fall schedule fills up quickly.
- Check your furnace filter monthly and change it when it's dirty.
- Clear leaves and debris from intake and exhaust pipes on the side of the house. Blocked pipes can shut your heat down.
- Finish weatherizing with caulk, insulation and weather stripping.
- Replace thermostat batteries when the clocks change.
- Change your whole house humidifier's water panel. You can buy Aprilaire panels from us.
- Leave the AC condenser uncovered. Covers can attract mice, who may chew on wires. A piece of plywood on top is enough to stop falling icicles.
