Plan the heating before the walls close.

We design and install HVAC for remodels in newer and older homes, and we've worked with many of the area's top remodeling contractors.

What to think through

Extend or separate?

Sometimes the existing system can easily reach the new space. Other times a separate heating and cooling system is the better answer. We'll help you decide.

No way to run ducts?

There are specialized heating and cooling systems that install without ductwork, so a remodeled space doesn't have to go without.

Building on a slab?

In-floor radiant heat is often a good fit for an addition on a concrete slab, and it's an efficient, comfortable choice.

Finishing a basement?

Think about how you'll use it. A play area for active kids may not need as effective and expensive a system as a basement office.

While the walls are open

A remodel can be the best time to improve the system that serves the rest of your home.

  • Fix hot or cold spots elsewhere in the house
  • Move or modify existing ductwork
  • Move hot water radiators or change their style
  • Relocate your air conditioner, furnace or boiler
  • Add zoning, with separate thermostats for different areas
